Ep. 7: Happy holidays, Squatches! Scott to the rescue, beware the tariffs, Wisconsin Old Fashioned, Can you go camping: the game

****SENSITIVITY WARNING**** Mentions of death and suicide in the context of Search and Rescue missions to recover human remains. The content may be distressing or upsetting for some listeners. Please take care when deciding whether to listen to this episode. If you feel that the subject matter may be triggering or uncomfortable, we encourage to skip this episode or proceed with caution.

This week we are joined by our friend, Scott! Scott drives a 4Runner TRD Pro and shares with us how he discovered overlanding.

We have gone on some epic overland trips with Scott in the past, so we jump into discussing some of the highlights of our trip to Idaho last year. Scott sometimes overlands with a teardrop trailer that can be a blessing and a curse depending on the trail conditions.

Scott and Garrick recount their recent weekend trip to Douglas Creek in central Washington.

In the gear focus segment, Scott forecasts that tariffs could have a dramatic effect on gear pricing in the near future. The crew is divided on whether rooftop tents are worth it.

The main focus of this episode is Scott's experience with his Search and Rescue team. Scott shares the joys and motivations of supporting his team, reveals the stark realities of recovery missions and how they affect him personally, the ins and outs of a typical mission, and encourages others to join the ranks if you feel the calling.

We close out the episode with a new segment, Random Recommendations. In this segment we share something that we think is worth checking out that may or may not be overlanding related.
